When choosing an English camp for your child, you want to be sure it’s not only fun and educational, but also safe, well-supervised, and truly beneficial. The EMS Winter English Camp in Malaysia is designed with parents’ peace of mind in mind. It combines excellent safety measures, experienced teachers, comfortable facilities, and meaningful learning experiences that help students grow both academically and personally.
Here’s everything parents should know before enrolling their child in the EMS Winter English Camp.
Safety and Supervision at EMS
At EMS Winter Camp, students follow a structured daily programme with English classes and extra learning activities led by EMS teachers.
The academic day runs from *9:00 AM to 3:50 PM*, including Intensive General English classes, a lunch break, and afternoon learning activities focused on communication and speaking practice.
For children aged *6–12, the Winter Camp programme also includes optional tours and activities. According to the 2027 Winter Camp programme, **a parent or guardian must accompany the child on all tours*, including Zoo Negara, Sunway Lagoon, SplashMania Waterpark and Genting Highlands.
This means classroom learning is managed through EMS, while parents or guardians join their children during the optional tour programme.
Accommodation and Meals
Accommodation is *optional* and is not included automatically with the English course.
Families can choose the English programme only or select accommodation separately depending on their needs and travel plans.
The daily programme includes a *lunch break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM*, between the morning English classes and the afternoon learning activities.
For families who require accommodation support, EMS provides separate accommodation options that can be arranged alongside the Winter Camp programme.
Academic Benefits for Students
The EMS Winter English Camp isn’t just a holiday camp — it’s a structured learning program focused on improving students’ English fluency, confidence, and communication skills.
- English Immersion: Students use English throughout the day in lessons, games, and group activities, which strengthens fluency naturally.
- Experienced Teachers: EMS instructors are passionate about teaching and use interactive methods such as role plays, storytelling, and debates to keep learning fun.
- Focus on Speaking Confidence: Many students in Malaysia can understand English but hesitate to speak it. EMS helps them overcome this barrier with daily speaking practice and encouragement.
- Academic Progress: Campers return home with better pronunciation, stronger vocabulary, and improved listening comprehension.
These benefits extend beyond camp — many parents notice that their children become more confident and perform better in school after attending.
Cultural Diversity and Global Friendships
One of the most unique and valuable aspects of the EMS Winter English Camp is its cultural diversity. Every year, the camp welcomes students from various countries across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond — creating a truly international environment where learning goes beyond the classroom.
Through teamwork, games, and daily interactions, students not only improve their English but also learn to respect and appreciate different cultures, traditions, and perspectives. This experience helps them develop empathy, open-mindedness, and global awareness — qualities that are essential for success in today’s connected world.
Communication with Parents During Camp
EMS understands that parents want to stay connected and informed. Throughout the camp, the team ensures open communication between staff and families.
- Regular Updates: Parents receive updates and photos of daily activities through official channels, so they can see what their children are learning and enjoying.
- Emergency Contact: Parents are provided with a direct contact line for urgent matters.
- Feedback Reports: At the end of camp, EMS provides progress feedback highlighting each student’s growth in English skills and personal development.
This transparent approach gives parents confidence and keeps them involved even while their children are away.
