In February this year, EMS took to the road once again and this time it’s across four cities in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Our representatives who is a familiar name to many Instagram followers there, welcomed around 6000 visitors at information booths set up in the cities of Atyrau, Aktau and Almaty in Kazakhstan and Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan.

For over five days, starting from 14th February, a steady stream of schoolchildren and their parents, college students, as well working men and women turned up to find out about studying English at EMS Malaysia. Some came with specific queries such as the Summer Camp programme while a great majority simply wanted to get a general idea of the courses on offer, including costs and application procedures and requirements. Potential students aged between 14 to 45 years old, found the face-to face interaction extremely useful and, translated brochures and information accessories available at the booths helped them to source further information.

Both Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are witnessing growing interests in the English language, with many people looking to improve their language skills for better academic and career prospects.  They are eager to break the language barrier to enable them to meet the new challenges and demands of the changing work market. For Kazakhstan in particular, the recent government directive requiring teachers and medical professionals to communicate in English in the country’s bid to enter the league of top 50 countries, has encouraged many to seek study opportunities in Malaysia, where study fees are lower compared to those in nearby countries like Turkey and Dubai.

All in all, it was a successful trip. EMS Malaysia eagerly awaits the arrival of our friends from Central Asia!
